Letter from James Wortham to John Hawkins to say that Mr Ord does not appear to be the heir-at-law [to Mrs Pickering] and there should be no risk to Mr Whitbread accepting an indemnity on the title as it is. With a reply from Eade & Hawkins stating that Mr Partridge does not appear to be in a position to say that the title must be accepted as it stands or the purchase relinquished.
