Letter from George Cooch, Newport Pagnell [?to Samuel Whitbread] to say that he may have Thomas Haxley's [Axley's] estate at Harrowden for £300 if he will take it without a fine to bar his wife's dower 'the expense of which I cannot reconcile him to'. Thomas Haxley's bond against dower will be perfectly safe.
