- Scope and ContentWilliam Islip: a farmer residing at Melchbourne, and previously, until Lady Day had occupied a farm in Pertenhall. Shortly before Harvest he discovered some of his sacks were missing. The identified the 3 sacks produced as his, swearing to 2 of them. The prisoner had never worked for him and had no right to the possession of sacks. John King: on 15 November, he went to the house occupied by the prisoner at Pertenhall. He found a quantity of sacks, and observed the name of Mr W Islip on 2 of them. These were identified by Mr Islip. At that time the prisoner was in custody but his wife was present for the search.
