- Scope and ContentChristopher Kibble of Edgcot (Bucks), labourer - he has a son Christopher Kibble who lived at Billington but is now absent. At Michaelmas c.1810 he took (verbally) a house, bakehouse, close and garden in the parish of Waddesden from Mr Warr at a rent of £10 p.a. He occupied the property for 10 successive years and regularly paid the rent. He also paid all the poor rates for the property. When he left Waddesden he went to Edgcott and gained his livelihood by keeping a small shop and occasionally going to work. He never served any Parish Office at either Waddesdon or Edgcott. and has never done any act whereby to gain a settlement since he left Waddesdon. He son Christopher was born in wedlock at Waddesdon about 25 years ago and to his knowledge never gained any settlement in his own right. He is now under sentence of transportation for 10 years and Eliza his wife is now present. Eliza Kibble - she was lawfuly married at the parish church of Leighton Buzzard 6 weeks before Michaelmas 1840 by banns to Christopher Kibble. She has one living child named Mary, about one year and four months old. Her husband is now under sentence of transportation for 10 years. Since their marriage they have lived in a cottage at Billington and he has been a farmer's servant. He has never done any act to gain a settlement. Her husband's father Christopher Kibble has been sworn to his settlement in her presence. She has received relief from Mr Meacher the relieving officer of Leighton Buzzard Union for the past several weeks. She received 5s 6d a week when she was ill and 2s a week since she has been better. Last Saturday she received 2 shillings. William Henry Meacher - he is relieving officer of the Leighton Buzzard Union. The township of Billington is within that Union. The relief he gives to the pauper Eliza Kibble is charged to the township of Billington. She has now been chargeable for 21 weeks. The amount of relief he has given is £3 14s 6d.
