Lease: (i) John Polhill (ii) Elizabeth Townsend, Eaton Socon, widow, William Townsend, her son, farmer. (i) demises to (ii) all that messuage, farmhouse etc and land (200 acres 30 perches) in Renhold in the occupation of Carter Potto, reserving unto (i) all timber growing on premises, all mines and stone quarries, with liberty for (i) to enter onto premises and work them, to carry away minerals, make bricks etc. Also with liberty for (i) to enter upon Hill Ground Close and to divert public carriage road from Bedford to Great Barford over said Close. To be 60 ft wide. £2 2s to be allowed off rent for every acre used for said purpose. All game rights reserved to (i). Term 6 years from 11 October. Rent £300. £10 for every acre of meadow ploughed up, £10 for every acre arable sown with corn etc more than 2 years together without fallowing. Glass to be kept in repair, going gears, gates, fences, bridges etc. To provide (i) with wagon load of wheat straw for stables, and another for thatching. To make smooth 5 acres of banky pasture land. Also anthills and molehills. (ii) will protect young trees and game. No sub-letting without consent. (i) to keep buildings insured.
