  • Scope and Content
    He is 21 years of age, born at Clophill in this County where his father lived. He continued at Clophill til he was 13. he then let himself to George Hayley of Barton, farmer from about 6 weeks after Michaelmas to Michaelmas following. He then let himself for a year to Luke Brazier of Barton, farmer at the wages of £3. he served the whole of his year with Mr Brazier and then went to Houghton Regis where he let himself by the week as a labourer. he continued there six weeks. He worked with different masters at Clophill and Flitton til Michaelmas 1807 when he let himself to Robert Francis Horn of Bolnhurst, farmer for a year. He continued in this service that year and the following. He has since worked as a labourer with several masters in Bedford for two years. He has done no act since to gain a settlement. He has a wife Sarah ad two children, William aged two and Ann aged twelvemonths or thereabouts. he enlisted into His Majesty's 1st Chatham Division of Royal Marines 31st October last.
