    He is about 33 years of age, born in St Peter, Bedford. His father Edward Edwards and his mother Elizabeth Edwards both then resided there but were parishioners of and belonged to St Peter in the Borough of St Albans in the County of Hertford. When he was about seven or eight years of age he went with his father and mother to St Peters in St Albans where they continued several years. Fifteen years ago last Michaelmas he was married at the parish church of Wootton in the County of Bedford to his now wife Mary , by whom he has six children namely Marvel a son aged 14 years born at Wootton, Sarah aged nine years, John aged eight years, Sophia aged six years, William aged four years and Joseph aged one year last February, all born in Bedford. About ten years ago this Examinant his wife and two children, Marvel and another child since dead were obliged to apply to the parish of St Peter in St Albans for relief and were admitted to the poor house there. The said examinant continued there about a week and his wife and the two children about four months. This examinants father has been dead several years and his wife Elizabeth Edwards has been constantly relieved by the parish of St Peter in St Albans for about five years and is now relieved by the said parish. Neither he nor any of his family have done any act whereby to gain a settlement in their own right to the best of his knowledge or belief.
