- Date free text4 January 1853
- Production dateFrom: 1853 To: 1853
- Scope and ContentDickson writes that he made enquiries of Mr Hill the schoolmaster, who considered Peck to be a good attentive & obedient boy in day school. His conduct was very good in Sunday school and at Dickson week day evening classes. Dickson had never heard of any dishonesty by Peck. If guilty Dickson believed him to deserve punishment but hoped that it could be summary punishment and that peck would not be exposed to "the contamination of common thieves in the gaol".
