    He is 22 years of age, was born in Silsoe where his father Matthew Denton resided and was a parishioner. At the age of about 16 he let himself to Mr Thomas Handscombe of Shitlington in the said County for a year at the wages of six guineas. At Michaelmas 1806 he let himself to Mr Thomas Gudgeon of Arlesey in the said County, farmer, for a year at nine guineas wages which he received. At Michaelmas 1807 he let himself to Mr John Long of Upper Stondon, farmer, for a year at the wages of seven pounds which he received. That at Ampthill Statute 1808 he let himself to Mr Thomas Gudgeon of Houghton Conquest, farmer, generally for a year. he went to Mr Gudgeon the day after Michaelmas day and he left the same on Michaelmas Day 1809. His wages were nine guineas a year and he received the whole nine guineas. He has since enlisted into the Bedfordshire Regiment of Militia. He was married to his now wife Sarah (late Sarah Swales) at the parish church of St Paul the day after Michaelmas Day 1810.
