    On Saturday evening 13 August about 7pm he saw Thomas Cook in a field belonging to Mr Richard Gutteridge in Houghton Regis. The wheat in the field was in shocks. He saw Cook, who was among the persons gleaning in the field, put his hand to one of the shocks three times and pull out a quantity of wheat. Each time he carried away the wheat and gave it to a girl. The value of the wheat is 3d.
