In 1788, let himself for a period of one year to Thomas Tongue of St. George’s parish Canterbury for 8 guineas and lived there and received wages for one year and four months. He had no other settlement and on 17 June 1792 was married to Mary Spencer in St. Mary’s parish church (Bedford).
