- Date free text15 December 1838
- Production dateFrom: 1838 To: 1838
- Scope and ContentI am about 19 years of age, was born as I have been informed and believe, in the parish of St Paul in the town of Bedford. In the month of September 1832 I was apprenticed by the Trustees of the Bedford Charity for seven years to William Seamark of Finedon, Northamptonshire, shoemaker. I served him under my indentures rather more than two years during which I lodged in my masters house at Finedon. We then quarrelled and he turned me out of doors. I have never seen my master since I left him and have maintained myself by working occasionally as a labourer and at my trade. I have done no act to my knowledge to gain any other settlement and am now actually chargeable to the said parish of St Paul.
