I have been informed and believe that I was born in the parish of Upwell in the County of Norfolk on 4th April 1817 and am the daughter of Adams Lyon and Sarah his wife who were married at Upwell Church. I have done no act to my knowledge to gain a settlement in my own right but I have been informed and believe that my father is now residing at Chatteris in the County of Cambridge and that he has gained a settlement in that parish as well by renting and occupying a large farm in the same parish for several years past and paying rent for the same exceeding ten poundsa year also by the possession of an estate in the same parish and I am now actually chargeable to the parish of St Paul in the Borough of Bedford.
