Yesterday Edward Cope was married by licence in the church, a very quick affair so hope he will now conduct himself more respectable. The Brougham has been out several times this week. Today John’s friends from Peterborough Mr. and Mrs. Herbert are expected at the other house to dinner. I wrote to Clara and said she must fix her own time about coming to visit. Have not heard from Aunt Henry and Brington since you left.
