- Scope and ContentAbout 4am that morning he was on duty on the Old Bedford Road when he saw Samuel Fletcher and several other persons pulling wheat out of some shocks in a field in the parish of Luton belonging to Messrs Frederick and Charles Burr. They all ran away. He overtook Samuel Fletcher and took some wheat from him. He took Fletcher into custody and put him in the cage. The wheat produced is the wheat he took from Fletcher. There was sheaf lying near the gate with every ear cut off and another nearly so.
