    Details given: Reciting marriage settlement [see X 668/170]. Reciting also lease and release of 21 and 22 April 1806: (a) John Ransom and wife Ann (b) Elizabeth Wheeler (c) said George Exton (d) said Samuel Davis (e) John, Earl of Upper Ossory (f) John Morris. Meadow in Ampthill called Fan Meadow and other property were conveyed to use of (c) for life and then to use of (d) to bar dower of wife of (c) but in trust to take rents etc. Reciting also lease and release of 5 and 6 December 1806: (1) Thomas Saunders Hollingworth, James Black (2) George Exton (3) William Greene (4) John Morris. Messuage and other lands in Ampthill were conveyed to use of (2) for life and then to (3) to bar dower of any wife of (2) but in trust to take rents etc. Reciting also lease and release of 22 and 23 February 1809: (A) George Exton and wife Harriet (B) Henry Spring, Charles Austin. George Exton was desirous of making provision for himself and his wife in addition to that in his marriage settlement so George Exton released to (B) messuage in Ampthill being same as last recited except for certain common rights or allotments in lieu of common rights, to use and on trusts as (A) should appoint. By surrender of 30 September 1809 George Exton surrendered into hands of Lord of Manor of Ampthill certain lands held by copy of Court Roll, subject to certain securities made by him for the payment of certain sums of money, to the use of William Exton and Francis Nash in trust, to use of himself for life, with remainder to his wife. George Exton is indebted to (v) in the sums as in schedule. Now (i) surrender into hands of the Lord of the Manor of Ampthill all copyhold lands contained in surrender of 30 September 1809, to use of (iv). Now also (i) direct that messuage, dwelling house etc in Dunstable Street, Ampthill, with use of pump standing on land of John Morris opposite said messuage, and other property in lease and release of 22 and 23 February 1809 shall remain and operate to use of (iv). Also (i) and (ii) release to (iv) 2 allotments of land (3 roods 37 perches and 3 roods 8 perches). Also (iii), with consent of George Exton, release to (iv): -- said messuage as above -- plot of land (3 roods 37 perches) North east ancient enclosure of George Exton South east private road leading to Seven Path Close South William Wilcox, Ezra Eagles North west another allotment of George Exton -- plot of land (3 roods 8 perches) North east ancient enclosures of George Exton South east second allotment for marl, clay or mortar pits South west John Carte, James Fossey North west private road to Seven Path Close all in Ampthill and alloted to George Exton in exchange for Fan Mead given to John Morris, which was so allotted as his 4th copyhold allotment of common rights at the inclosure -- all freehold lands in Ampthill assured by lease and release of 21 and 22 April 1806 -- other plot in Ampthill (2 roods 4 perches) North east ancient enclosure of George Exton South east another allotment of George Exton South west (part) Ezra Eagles South west (remaining part) Thomas Chapman awarded by Inclosure Commissioners in lieu of remaining part of right of common in respect of above described messuage, and purchased by George Exton since the passing of the inclosure act. Covenant by (i) to levy fine of the premises, to be held by (iv) on trust: to exchange part of property for that in lease and release of 21 and 22 June 1804, also to convey such further parts of freehold lands of £10 value above the land tax as they think proper. To uses as in same release concerning the other property. Also on trust: as to the other lands and to Several Close or Further Close in Ampthill, to sell for best price which can be got. Proceeds to be used to discharge all principal and interest due to anyone and then in satisfaction of debts due to (v). Residue to be paid to George Exton. Also George Exton demises to (iv) all messuages, lands etc as in release and settlement of 22 June 1804. Term 60 years if George Exton shall so long live. Also George Exton assigns to (iv) household furniture, goods, chattels as in Schedule [not copied] on trust to sell them by auction and apply proceeds to purposes as previously declared. However may be lawful for (iv) out of any money raised out of the sale or demise of lands, or of household goods, to pay to (i) £400 per annum as (iv) shall think fit. To be paid to Harriet Exton.
