- Scope and ContentBorn at St. Paul’s where father Thomas Rutter was a parishioner. Bound apprentice by Bedford Charity to Samuel Chaulton, Kempston, wheelwright, for a term of 7 years. Had served 5 years and 6 months of his apprenticeship when Chauston died. Was then turned over by Indenture to Timothy Bentley, Eaton Socon, wheelwright, for the remainder of his term, which he duly served, receiving the Benefaction allowed by the Bedford Charity to boys who serve their full time. No other settlement. Married Sarah Flood at St. Paul’s at Easter 1797. One child, Ann, aged 2 years 6 months. Removed by Orders.
