    Born at St. Paul’s, where father Peter Richardson was a parishioner. Bound apprentice by Bedford Charity to Robert Bywaters, Shefford, bricklayer, for term of 7 years. Served 5½ years of his apprenticeship, following which his Bywaters, having no work at that time, advised Richardson to seek work elsewhere. Richardson accordingly came to Bedford and worked, in turn, for the following local bricklayers for the periods indicated:- Thomas Biggs, Bedford – about 2 months; Samuel Berril, Oakley – about 1 month; William Berril, Bedford – about 6 months. During the remainder of the term of his apprenticeship, i.e. 9 months, Richards worked for William Dudley, Kempston, bricklayer. Received the benefaction of the Bedford Charity. No other settlement. Married Sarah, spinster, at St. Paul’s about 1797. One daughter Judith aged about 1 year. Removed by Orders.
