    (Correspondent apparently employed by the Duke.) Regarding request of Mr. Everitt, native of Thorney and formerly a Pupil Teacher there, to give an Evening Entertainment of readings and recitals at Woburn similar to one lately given at Thorney, in aid of the School Teachers Provident Institute [Teachers Provident Society?]. The Duke not only consented but will pay for it for two successive evenings; Teachers to make arrangements. First evening admission by paid tickets; second evening mainly free to children of Woburn schools and the Workhouse. Proposed dates 17th and 18th in Easter week; Pilkington promises to have building and sittings ready. Thornhill will communicate with the School Teachers and will report progress to Benson. Proposed furnishing of benches for permanent use and chairs for occasions, to be kept in Hall cellar when not in use.
