Indictment of John Woodward of Luton, for pretending to Eliza Booth wife of Joseph Booth that he had bought a bushel and a half of potatoes which her husband had ordered from him for a price of 2s 3d and delivered only one bushel, intending to defraud Joseph Booth of 2s 3d and 2 pecks of potatoes. Plea - not guilty. Verdict - not guilty.
