- Scope and ContentBorn at Simberley, Wilts, to which father, William Twogood, belonged. Bound apprentice, about 1782, by Indenture, he believes, to his uncle, Richard Twogood, Gillingham, Dorset, tailor, for term of 7 years. Served about 6 months when, his uncle and he not agreeing, they went before a magistrate and parted by mutual consent. About 1788 let himself for 1 year to John Bradshaw, Simberley, grazier, at a wage of 5 guineas. Served Bradshaw for 5 years, receiving additional wages of 1 guinea per annum after the first year. No other settlement since. Married Ann Stammers at St. Paul’s, 29 December 1795.
