- Scope and ContentBorn at Wilkes Street, Spital Fields, Middlesex. Bound apprenticeship, about 1778 or 1779, by Indenture, to his Uncle, Thomas Woodcock, Potton, butcher, for term of 7 years, no fee being given with him but the King’s Duty being duly paid on the Indenture. Served full term of his apprenticeship and afterwards lived with his uncle for 2 years as a journeyman. No other settlement. Married Elizabeth, spinster, at Northill, 14 May 1793. Two children; Elizabeth and Mary Ann, aged about 2 years and 2 months respectively.
