    Born at Higham Ferrers, Northants. Let himself as a yearly servant to William Baker, Tilbrook, farmer, about 1785 at a wage of 2½ guineas. Served Baker for 4 years, but wages varied each year. Let himself to Samuel Ashby, Bedford, farmer, at Michaelmas 1789, to serve as his shepherd for one year at a wage of 7 guineas, entering Ashby’s service on the day following Michaelmas Day 1789, and leaving the day after Michaelmas Day 1790, having received his year’s wages. Stated that Ashby’s farm and farmhouse were situated in St. Peter’s, but that his dwellinghouse was in St. Paul’s. Creek constantly resided and slept in the dwellinghouse in St. Paul’s. No other settlement. Married Ann (late Ann Draper) at Higham Ferrers, Shrove Tuesday 1792. One child: James, aged nearly 1 year.
