    Details given: Reciting lease and release of 28 and 29 February 1719: (a) Mary Tuffnayle, spinster (b) Nicholas Blick, gentleman, father of (i) said Nicholas Blick, the son (c) John Alford, William Midford, Francis Brace, Grey Arnauld (all since deceased). (a) released to (c) all messuages, lands etc in Wroxhill, Marston Moretaine and Wootton to hold to uses as in deed of even date: (1) said Nicholas Blick, father (2) (i) and Mary Tuffnayle (3) John Alford, William Midford, Francis Brace, Grey Arnauld. By another deed of same date: (A) Nicholas Blick, the father (B) (i) and Mary Tuffnayle (C) John Alford, William Midford, Francis Brace, Grey Arnauld. In consideration of a marriage between (B) the premises were placed with (C) on various trusts. Marriage took place and Mary is dead, without children by (i). Also several leasehold messuages etc in Middlesex belonging to (i) and his father were by deed of 11 July 1715 and another deed of 15 March 1723 assigned to John Bateman for the remainder of several terms of years to secure £1500 and £1640. Reciting also lease and release of 16 and 17 March 1723: (I) Nicholas Blick, the son, and Dorothy his then wife (II) Fettiplace Nott, esquire, John Bateman. In consideration of a marriage between (I), and of Articles before that marriage, Nicholas Blick released to (II) said messuage, lands etc to use of Nicholas Blick, for 99 years, and then for his son, and then to Dorothy as part of her jointure, and then for their sons in tail male and then to their daughters. Reciting also lease and release of 11 and 12 September 1727: (ia) Nicholas Blick, the son (ib) said Sir Thomas Lawley, Richard Loughford, Inner Temple, London, gentleman (ic) John Bateman. Dorothy Blick was dead without issue by (ia). (ia) is seised of premises in release of 17 March 1723 in fee simple. (ia) released said messuages etc in Bedfordshire to use of (ib) in trust for (i) redeemable on payment of £5598 18s 4d. Sir Thomas Lawley survived Richard Loughford, and afterwards died and was succeeded by his son (iv). John Bateman died on 17 September 1728. By his will dated 14 February 1727 he devised the residue of his real and personal estate (subject to payment of legacies) to Lady Lawley and appointed her sole executrix. She thereby became entitled to principal and interest money secured on said messuages etc. On 24 January 1729 she married Mark Halpen, gentleman. Reciting also deed of 21 January 1730: (IA) Nicholas Blick, the son (IB) William Simpson, Joseph Beeton. (IA) conveyed to (IB) said premises and equity of redemption to secure repayment of a certain sum of money and interest. Reciting also deed of 30 April 1736: (iia) Mark Halpen (iib) Lady Lawley, his wife (iic) Christopher Denton, John Glass. By a decree pronounced in the Exchequer on 18 November 1733 in 2 causes, it was ordered that (iia) should execute proper conveyances to trustees to be named by (iib) of all her real estates and should assign her personal estate to them in trust for her separate use. Now (iia) assigned to (iic) principal money and interest secured upon said messuage, land etc in trust for (iib). By a decree in Exchequer on 31 May 1736 it was ordered that mortgaged premises or a sufficient part thereof should be sold (such part as charged with annuity to Daniel Langhorne to be sold subject to said annuity). Money arising to be applied in repayment of said mortgages and premises reconveyed to William Simpson and Joseph Beeton. By report of Deputy Remembrancer of 2 May 1737 David Thomas was approved as best purchaser of Bedfordshire premises for £2600. Lady Lawley by her will dated 27 January 1739 made (iii) her executor. £7500 due to her estate for principal and interest. Now in consideration of £2600 by (vi), with the consent of (iii) and David Thomas, paid to (v), and applied in part of said £7500, (iv), (ii) and (iii) and also (i), with consent of David Thomas, release to (vi): -- messuage at Wroxhill, Marston Moretaine, formerly in occupation of Nicholas Price, deceased. -- Home Close -- close called Coverhill -- close called Plowed Hill -- 2 acres sward in Ridgeway Close -- close called Holy Orchard -- close divided into 2 called Newbolds -- close called Longcroft with a coppice of wood adjoining -- Horse Close -- Inings Pightle all in Wroxhill, Marston Moretaine, and purchased of William Smith, gentleman, by Nicholas Price, late father of said Nicholas Price -- 63 acres arable lands and leys lying in common fields of Wroxhill and Marston Moretaine -- 6 acres 1 rood purchased by Nicholas Price, the father, from Ann Impey and Thomas Impey -- 3 acres more purchased of Roger Price -- 1 acre more purchased of Gilbert Stoughton, gentleman all of which were devised by the will of Nicholas Price, the father, to Nicholas Price, the son -- close pasture called Over Ravensden -- close called Middle Ravensden -- Ridgway Close -- close called Perry Hill -- 48 acres land and ley lying in common fields of Marston Moretaine - 21 acres in Sex Hill Field - 27 acres in Wroxhill Field above were purchased of Catherine Pauly, widow, and Thomas Cose all which were late the estate of Nicholas Price, the son, and in occupation of Richard Sawell. Said Nicholas Price, the son, gave them to John Tuffnayle, gentleman, and on his death, came to Mary Tuffnayle, his only daughter. -- cottage in Wootton, in occupation of John Shaw -- close in Wootton in occupation of William Cumberland East Leach Green one side cottage of Praise Noel other side land leading to Wood End Green all in the possession of (vi), to be held to use of (vi) for ever. Indemnity by (i) against acts committed by himself, his late wife Mary, her brother John Tuffnayle or Nicholas Price, the son, and any claims under previous deeds other than term of 99 years assigned by deed of even date to Thomas Bonis in trust for (vi).
