Born at Nor[th]church, Herts., where father Samuel Page resided under certificate from St. Paul’s. Bound apprentice by Bedford Charity to William Robinson of Kempston, cordwainer, 29 Dec. 1777 for 7 years, serving 4¾ years until Robinson’s removal to Biddenham, where he served a further year terminating on Robinson’s death. Due to illness, he was permitted to return to his father in Bedford, where he resided for 7 weeks until he was turned over by the Executors of the late William Robinson, with consent of the Bedford Charity Trustees, to James Robinson of Kempston, cordwainer, son of the late William Robinson, serving him for 1 year 1 month until apprenticeship expired on 29 December 1784. “Slept” at the house of James Robinson of Kempston until about September 1784, when, due to illness [”ague”] and with Robinson’s permission, he alternated place of residence between his father’s home in St. Paul’s and Robinson’s house. Worked regularly for Robinson when well enough until expiry of apprenticeship. “Slept” the great part of his “last 40 nights” at St. Paul’s. Received the benefaction of Bedford Charity following completion of apprenticeship. Married Ruth at Bromham on 27 June 1790. Daughter Elizabeth born July 1791.
