  • Scope and Content
Under an order bearing the date 25 August 1830 Jonathan Partridge and Frances his wife, paupers, then actually chargeable to St John, Bedford were ordered to be removed to Bozeat, County of Northampton as the place of their last legal settlement. The order was suspended but then on 25 September 1830 the suspension was removed with a permission to execute the order. The sum of three pounds nineteen shillings had been incurred by the suspension of the order of removal and the justices therefore ordered the Churchwardens and Overseers of the Poor of Bozeat to which parish Jonathan Partridge and his wife were to be removed to pay the said sum. Which said order of removal has since been carried into execution and the said sum duly demanded but was refused and has been neglected to be paid. The complainant therefore prays redress. With order from Thomas Gwyn Elger, Mayor of Bedford, for Thomas Sanders, Overseer of the poor for Bozeat to appear before him 19 February 1831.
