  • Scope and Content
The Wroxhill property is described as follows: -- messuage or tenement, formerly in the occupation of Richard Birt, and afterwards of John Steffe -- Ley Close (10 acres) -- Fish Pond Close (5 acres) -- Hill Close (5 acres) -- Gate Close (1 acre) -- Home Pightle (1 acre) -- The Hanging of the Hill (7 acres) -- Little Bottom (2 acres) -- Middle Bottom (4 acres) -- Great Bottom (5 acres) -- Colehams (7 1/2 acres) -- Great Hill Close (6 acres) -- Stokes Pightle (1 acre) -- 2 acres arable in Windmill Field, near adjoining said messuage all in Marston Moretaine and formerly in occupation of Richard Birt and afterwards of John Steffe. Act recites various transactions relating to Piggott Ince's property and that Mrs Ince is entitled to a moiety of the premises. James Piggott Ince would have right to sell this moiety at 21 (subject to her life estate). Piggott Ince owed a considerable amount of money at his death. His personal estate does not cover the amount involved. Mary Ince is apprehensive that she might be involved in expensive lawsuits with creditors before her son is of age and able to join in the necessary Acts and Means for discharging the debts. Now it is enacted that moiety of property in Bedfordshire, including Wroxhill in Marston Moretaine, and other counties, allotted to Piggott Ince and William Westbrooke Richardson, be settled upon trustees, discharged from any uses, limitations etc imposed by any deeds or will etc concerning the same, in trust for sale. Proceeds of Bedfordshire estates to be used to repay a named debt, to make compensation to Mrs Ince for her life interest. Remainder to be invested - Mary Ince to have the dividends for her life. For later transactions regarding this property see X 668/68 to 95.
