- Scope and ContentHe was at the Black Horse at Dunstable at about 7pm yesterday. There were many others there including Mary Night. He went out of the house into the back yard. As he returned he met Night in the "Entry". She asked him to go into the wash house with her. He stood close to her. When he had been there a very short time he felt her hand in his pocket. He had three half crowns there, and when she took her hand out of the pocket they were gone. He accused her of stealing them. She gave him one back and said she had no more. He went to the constable and gave her in charge. He had had some beer but was not drunk.
