- Scope and ContentI was 29 years of age on 28th December last and am the son of Edward Clark of Hawnes, dairyman and Elizabeth his wife. On 2nd July 1829 I was bound apprentice by Indentures which I now produce to William Pardoe Roote of Woburn, carpenter and joiner to serve from the date of the same Indentures for the term of six years. I served my Master under the said Indentures and resided with him in Woburn for about three years of the said term when my Master removed to Eversholt and I served my Master and resided with him under the said Indentures at Eversholt for the remainder of the term of my apprenticeship. I have done no act to gain any other settlement. I was married on Sunday last the 16th instant at the parish church of St Peter, Bedford to Caroline Smith of St Peter, spinster.
