I was 37 years of age the first day of January last. I was born in Cardington as I have been informed and believe and of which place my father is a settled inhabitant. In the beginning of April 1841 I hired a house and four acres of land in Cardington of Mr Samuel Whitbread as a yearly tenant at the rent of ten pounds and continued in the actual and sole occupation of the same and paid all rent and taxes during the whole period of a year and have continued in the occupation of the same property to the present time and paid all rent and taxes up to Michaelmas last. I was married on 1t November instant at the parish church of St Paul, Bedford to Mary Hitchin of the same parish, spinster.
