- Scope and ContentSimeon Yerrill: the prisoner worked for him in Wrestlingworth. On 1 April he gave him permission to plant potatoes in his allotment. About half past eight he saw him coming from the direction of his house driving a wheelbarrow. However, instead of passing Yerrill's house, which was the nearest way, he turned out to the road and went up Church Lane. Yerrill thought this suspicious, so he went to him asked what he had. Matthews told him potatoes. Yerrill asked if any where his and Matthews said no. On searching the barrow Yerrill found potatoes at the bottom he believed to be his. There was about a bushel. They prisoner said there were a few of Yerrill’s at the top. The prisoner was foreman to Yerrill and had the key to the granary. Yerrill called the policeman.
