- Scope and ContentOn Wednesday at about 10am she hung a shirt to dry on a hedge about 20 yards from her door. Soon after Edward Pearce came to her door and went away past the place where the shirt was hanging. About 10 minutes later she found the shirt gone. The shirt belonged to her son James Dean and is worth 3s. She is sure the shirt produced is her son's. She sent for her son, described Pearce to him and desired him to go after Pearce. She never saw the other man before.
