Folio.139-140 Henry Franklin the younger of St Paul, Bedford, cellar man to Mr Higgins of the Swan Inn, Bedford.

I was 23 years of age on the 25th instant, and am informed and believe I was born at Lidlington and am the son of Henry Franklin and Martha his wife. My father occupied a farm at Lidlington and I believe he paid rent for it for the first four years after I was born. The farm contained upwards of one hundred acres and the rent greatly exceeded ten pounds per annum. My father has not nor have I to my knowledge done any act whereby I could gain any other settlement. I was married on the 27th April instant at St Mary, Bedford to Mary Fairey.
