- Scope and ContentI am about 28 years of age, was born as I have been informed and believe in St Paul, Bedford. When I was about fourteen I was apprenticed by the Trustees of the Bedford Charity by Indenture to my father Richard Taylor of St Paul, for seven years and lodged with him during the whole term in St Paul. On the first of April last I hired a house in Wells Street, St Paul, of Mr James Horsford to hold from the first day of April last to the first day of April 1840 by the yearly rent of eight pounds ten shillings clear of all taxes. I entered upon the house on that day and and am now in the occupation thereof. SInce the expiration of my apprenticeship I have done no other act to my knowledge to gain any other settlement. I was married on the twenty second day of April last at St Paul to Marianne Clare Swannell.
