- Scope and ContentHe works with Mr Michael Cook of Houghton Regis. Part of his business is to look after some sheep belonging to Joseph Freeman of Houghton Regis which are folded on turnips growing on land occupied by Mr Cook. On Sunday 19 December he counted the sheep and there were 38. On the following Friday there were only 37. He had marked the sheep some time before with a ruddle mark from the head to the tail and a ruddle dot on the off-hip. When he missed one of the sheep he recollected that one had a black spot of wool behind the shoulder - it was this sheep that was missing. The skin produced was given to him by Mr Armstrong and Short yeasterday week, and is the skin of the missing sheep.
