    Elizabeth Osborn: lived at Eaton Bray with her husband William. On 12 December, she had 2 shirts belonging to her sons, James and George. She put the shirts on a garden hedge to dry. They were there at 10 o'clock that night. A short time later she saw the prisoner pass up the road. She missed the shirts between 11 and 12 o'clock. Next morning she told the policeman. She identified the shirts she showed her as those she had missed. Ann Osborn: daughter to Elizabeth. Constable Riley showed shirts and she identified them as those stolen. George Osborn: son of Elizabeth. He was able to identify his shirt by different buttons and a wristband. Thomas Riley: on 13 December, he was informed by Elizabeth Osborn of the loss of 2 shirts. He found the shirts in the prisoners pocket. The prisoner said he would not have taken them if it had not been for the liquor.
