- Scope and ContentI am about 25 years of age, was born at St Paul. When about 14 years of age I was placed apprentice by the trustees of the Harpur Charity to John Aucock of Clapham Road, Stockwell, Surrey, grocer - served my full term of seven years. I remained with my master about 6 months after I was out of my time when I came to reside with my brother William Kent of High Street, St Paul, Bedford, shoemaker. I remained with my brother one year and learnt his trade of shoemaker. I boarded and lodged with him and during the time I gave him three pounds for teaching me his trade. At the end of a year I left my brother and have worked on my own account as a journeyman shoemaker ever since. I was married on 16th April instant at St Paul to Susannah Peach.
