- Scope and ContentI am about 21 years of age, was born at Haynes where my father resided. When I was about 15 years of age I went into the employ of Mr King of Haynes, baker, at the wages of seven shillings per week. I slept at my fathers. I remained in the service of Mr King about three years and a half and then I came to reside with Mr Hart at Bedford, baker. I remained in his service about twenty weeks when I returned to my father at Haynes. Some time in the month of April 1834 I entered into the service of Mr Benjamin Maulden of St Peters, Bedford, baker at the wages of 4 shillings per week and my bread and lodging. I remained with him up to the 26th of last December when I went to reside at Ravensden where I now rent a house at £6 per annum. I was married on 2nd February instant at St Paul, Bedford to Frances Bull.
