- Scope and ContentHearing from Mrs Souster she had been robbed by a soldier of a shilling he went in pursuit of the prisoner. He overtook him on the Turnpike Road towards London near Flamstead. He said the prisoner must go back with him. Brown asked what for. He asked if he had been at a beer house near Dunstable and had a doctor to attend to him there. Brown denied this and refused to be searched. He asked Brown to show him his money. He reluctantly pulled out his money - a crown piece, 2 shillings, 2 sixpences and 9 pence in copper. He asked where Brown came from - he said he had left Weedon about 7pm on Wednesday night, had been on the road all night, and had 10s when he left Weedon.
