- Scope and ContentLast Saturday night he was under Mr Barnard's cart hovel looking for some things that had been lost. He saw Thomas Short come out of his door and go up to Mr Barnard's stable. Short went across the yard and into the potato barn. He waited a few minutes. When he came to the door of the potato barn he saw Short with about 3 half pecks of potatoes in his sack, and a similar quantity in his frock. Short was down on his knees in the potatoes. When he came to the door Short shot them out of his pocket and drew his sack. He took him by the collar and called Mr Barnard. He took Short to the cage.
