  • Scope and Content
I rented a house at 27 Pitt Street, Kent Road, St George the Martyr, County of Surrey by the rent of five pounds a quarter and continued tenant of that house by the same rent and resided in the same for five or six years until my wife died about twenty years ago last november, when I quitted. I was a journeyman baker and worked for Mr Goldsmith of Walworth Common all the time I occupied the house. I paid all my rent but have lost my receipts. I forget the name of my landlord. He always came himself for the rent. i believe he lived in Leadenhall Market. I don't know what his business was. I was ill about seven or eight years ago and threw myself upon the parishof St George, Borough - I was relieved three or four times and was then taken into the workhouse of that parish. I was in the workhouse nearly half a year. I have done nothing to my knowledge to gain any other settlement and I am now actually chargeable to the parish of St Paul, Bedford. Remove to the parish of St George the Martyr, County of Surrey.
