- Scope and ContentAt Bletsoe Statute a fortmight before Michaelmas 1832 I let myself as a general servant to Mr Joseph Pain of Felmersham for a year from Old Michaelmas Day in that year for either seven guineas or seven pounds wages. After I let myself I asked Mrs pain to let me stay at home with my friends for a few days; she said I might. I went to my place on Thursday after Old Michaelmas Day and served Mr Pain uner that hiring in the parish of Felmersham until Old Michaelmas Day 1833 when I received my full wages and came away. I have done no act to gain any subsequent settlement to my knowledge and am now actually chargeable to the parish of St Paul. Orders to Felmersham.
