- Scope and ContentI am about 46 years of age, was born at Blunham aforesaid where my father John Cook then resided and belonged. In 1804 I let myself to Thomas Mayes of Ravensden, farmer, as horsekeeper by the year at the wages of five guineas. I continued in such service three years. I was married a few days before I left such service at Ravensden Church to Elizabeth Swales who died the Christmas following leaving one child now living. I then let myself to Benjamin Jefferies of Great Barford, farmer, as his maltster by the year at the wages of twelve pounds. I went into such service on New Michaelmas Day and quitted it on New Michaelmas Day following and received my full wages. I have not sone any act since to gain a settlement. I was married on the 4th instant at Blunham to Mary Nottingham.
