Statement of the accused - George Laurence & Amos Toyer

Laurence: he had said to Toyer that if he fetch him some water he would give him some potatoes. He heard someone in the hedge and saw it was Mr Taylor and he had the bag. He told Mr Taylor he had given the potatoes and turnips to Toyer in exchange for a drop of water. Taylor would not hear him speak. Toyer: he gave me the potatoes for a drop of water.
