Deposition of John Hide of Stotfold, farmer, against Robert Pattle

On 30 July he saw Robert Pattle who he knew to be employed at Mr Bodger's mill at Shefford Market. Being indebted to Mr Bodger in the sum of 50s for bran he offered to pay Pattle that sum. He gave Pattle the 50s, and Pattle went into a room at the Black Swan to write a bill and receipt. He now produces the bill and receipt.
