- Scope and ContentShe is housekeeper to her brother Geroge Peters who keeps a beer shop at Potton. Last Friday afternoon Emery came into her brother's house and called for 1/2 a pint of beer. She went to the cellar for it. Whe she came back she saw Emery coming away from the cupboard. She asked what he had been there for - he said a pipe. She said "you rascal you have been stealing some money". He denied it. She said she would send for the policeman and have his pockets searched. He then gave up some halfpence, altogether 11 1/4d at 3 different times. There was 18d or more in the cupboard in copper. When she looked again after the boy had been there, there was only 4 1/2d.
