I am about 43 years of age, was born in St Paul, Bedford where my father Robert York then resided and belonged. When I was about 14 years of age I was placed out apprentice by the Trustees of Harpurs Charity (by Indenture dated -) for seven years to Edward Allen of St Peter, Bedford, shoemaker. I served the whole of my time in the said parish of St Peter and have not done any other act to gain a settlement to the best of my knowledge. I was married on 28th Octoner instant at St Paul, Bedford to Sophia Flood.
