Depositions of Samuel Clark and William Edwards against John Norman and Richard Norman

Samuel Clark, constable of Baldock - on Tuesday morning he saw Richard and John Norman hawking fowls about Baldock. They called themselves Thomas Franklin and William Hill. They offered to take 9d each for them. He suspected they were stolen so took them into custody. He sent over to Langford with information and delivered the fowls to Edwards, the constable of Langford. William Edwards, constable of Langford - from information he received last Tuesday evening he found Richard and John Norman in custody. He took delivery of the 10 fowls and took them to the Smiths, who knew them. He heard John Norman say they had them from Smiths.
