    Eliza Day: on 22 May she left an apron hanging in the garden of their house. She missed the apron the following morning. She was able to identify the apron as she had made it. Joseph Fane: a general dealer residing in St Pauls, Bedford. The prisoner came to his house on 23 May with some old rags to sell. They were brought in a sack. He bought them and put them in a basket, which he later handed to Sergeant Beach. William Beach: he received a quantity of articles from Mr Fane. Amongst the items was an apron, which Fane said in the presence of the prisoner, that he had bought from the prisoner.
