Joseph Crouch of Biggleswade, butcher - he heard his father call out to Withey. He came out of his room into the shop, heard something fall on the dresser and found there was a piece of beef weighing about 5 lbs. He ran after Withey, caught him and gave him into the custody of the policeman. Withey did not deny having stolen the meat. William Withey - he was tipsy at the time and did not know what he was doing.
